Ms Danna came to speak to us about how leaves change color. Trees seem to know when the nights are getting longer. The trees stop producing food and the chlorophyll breaks down. Here, Reiland is exploring the difference between a single and a compound leaf. ** photo credit :Sarah As part of our Anti-Bullying campaign the BMX bikers from Dialed Action Sports performed some amazing tricks for us! They even jumped over Mrs. Hollick! At the end of the assembly, the bikers jumped over Mr. Vogt and Dr. Billings-Jones. **photo credit: Nathan October is National Bully Prevention month. Our class participated in a school wide essay writing contest. We learned that an essay must contain a thesis statement (our opinion) and several statements that support our opinion. On Friday, we said a sad goodbye to Mr. Reichl. He left our room after a terrific 8 weeks. We wish him well in his second placement. Luckily, he'll be right down the hall! This week in science class, Mr. Reichl taught us about condensation. Reagan is observing room temperature water and ice water. By feeling the outside of the cup, we can tell that when cold water meets room temperature air, condensation forms. On Tuesday, Miss Danna brought us a slug. Did you know that a slug is both a boy and a girl? Also, they are related to an octopus! Julia is using her white board to paraphrase an article called Frogs as Predators. Using the words first, second, and third, Julia is demonstrating how to use her own words to tell the author's important ideas. |
