In preparation for the PSSA, the children practiced writing an informational piece. Here, they were to write specific directions on how to put on a jacket. To model the steps, I used my jacket. The kids thought it would be funny to try my jacket on for size. Who knew writing could be so much fun? :) We are celebrating birds with Cornell University! I applied for and received a birdwatching kit which included a feeder, seeds, and 10 binoculars. In return, our class must identify the types of birds we see in three separate 10 minute sessions. We will send our data in to Cornell University. To learn more about our project, please visit their site at http://celebrateurbanbirds.org/ Here, our classroom mentor, Miss Danna, helps us learn to properly attract different types of birds to our window feeder. The key is to spread the seeds on the ground and on the windowsill to draw the birds to our feeder. We identified several brave chickadees visiting the window feeder the next day! |
